In No Strings Attached by Christy McKellen,  Chloe Dasher needs some kind of vacation so as to put her mind in order. Her long-awaited wedding did not happen since the groom decided she's not his happily ever after, after all. But she's not alone; her ex, Kit, is in the same boat, because his engagement has been cancelled. Fate seems to make them meet again in these odd circumstances. They decide to find comfort in each other's arms, with no strings attached. And only God knows where this will lead. I liked the fact that the conversations in the book are deep and natural. They seem thoughtful and well constructed. Additionally, I like the way the story is based in Japan, because it's rare in my opinion. Although the Japanese culture did not come out very clearly. I did not quite like the main characters. Kit is arrogant, and Chloe seems weak. The storyline also seems unbelievable, where both characters are leading different lives but going through the same circumstances...

  In You Can't Hurry Second Chances by Michelle Stimpson , Joyce Hicks, a retired teacher, is now a newly divorced woman who decides to return to Texas to start over. Due to her strained finances, she has to share a kitchen with her new tenant Gabriella, who later becomes a good friend, almost like a daughter. Elijah, Joyce's grandson, comes into the picture when he comes to spend summer with his grandma, even before she settles down due to unavoidable circumstances. Elijah and Gabriella bond almost immediately. Joyce's new life becomes quite chaotic, with her past pushing her limits. In the midst of all the chaos, Richard, an old friend, shows up, not to mention her newly found friends.
