In Not Mine to Take by Kate Campfield, Rory is not having the best of days at her place of work, but what she doesn't know is that things are going to get from bad to worse. Not only is she getting dumped by yet another boyfriend, but her job is no more. She thinks that maybe fate is punishing her for breaking her high school boyfriend's heart, whom she has been avoiding for the past 10 years. The high school reunion is coming soon, and now that she needs a break from everything, she decides to attend and face her past.

Nate has never recovered from that high school breakup and hopes that one day Rory will reconsider her decision. Then the chance he has been waiting for appears, and he decides to take it, but no one knows what the future holds for the two of them. I like the way the author describes the unspoken thoughts of the characters in the book; it makes the book very intriguing. I also like the way the dogs are incorporated in the story; they are simply hilarious.

I didn't like the way profanity is high in some chapters. Additionally, although the book is extremely fascinating, the epilogue has kind of changed the whole story.

I rate this book Not Mine to Take by Kate Campfield. 4 out of 5 stars.

I recommend it to those readers who like steamy books based on high school romance. The book will help them reflect on the past and find out if maybe there were decisions in their past that need revisiting.

  Anyone but the Superstar by Sara L. Hudson is a book about two main characters, Felix Jones and Elizabeth Moore. Felix, the celebrity, comes to Texas to shoot his first romantic film while Liz is running away from her family and needs to find herself after the unpleasant discovery about her origin. They met casually thanks to their carefree natures, only to end up hating and suspecting the motives of each other. Meeting once again and working together does not help the situation, not to mention the confusion that led them to have to stay together too. She was surprised to see him come up to speak to her during the break, but it was just a brief encounter. Later on, they found themselves competing over a shop, which they had to share, although now they cannot stand each other's presence. At times, one wonders how life was in the ancient days, or the Bible days, as some people call them. Cynthia J. Koelker has put our imagination to rest as she narrates in the book known as The Legacy of Job's Wife . This is a fiction book based on the story of Job, found in the Bible. The main character is Job's wife, whose life is well narrated, bringing out the simple, silly things that normal people do. They happened to be neighbors as well as family friends with Jobs' family. Job came from a God-fearing family, but that was not the case with his wife. How will they end up? The reader will have to find out for themselves in this interesting book. At first, I didn't think it would be a very interesting book because, after all, I have read the book of Job a lot of times, yet I needed to see what the writer needed to say regarding it.   The Plot Twist by Victoria Walters is a book written as a continuation of her other book, The Love Interest. The main characters of this book are Noah and Stevie, who were a couple six years ago but things didn't work out well as Noah suddenly left without any explanation, leaving Stevie devastated. Stevie decided to leave the dating scene and bury herself in her work, where they used to work with her friend Liv in a university library.   Second Act by Henry Oliver is a book about late bloomers or people who discover their path to success later in their lives, contrary to the belief that success can only come in more youthful years. The author has given many examples of late bloomers who have become great people in society, some of whom have done wonders even as late as 90 years of age. He has shown how interruptions of life have brought about significant changes in the lives of people who had otherwise settled for less, only to discover that life has new surprises for them. He has also given great advice, accompanied by real people's life experiences, what made them fail, and what made them succeed. I like the real-life stories the author has given in the book. In the book Coming Home to Starr’s Fall, by Kate Hewitt , Laurie Ellis has made up her mind to move to Starr’s Fall to start over because she believes that it is her town of origin.
