BOOK REVIEW: Review of A Scandal Changes Everything by Josie Johns

To Sophia St. Clair, life is just unfair. After being caught with a man in a society that does not forgive women, she is now not just an outcast but also has her beloved daughter taken away from her. Roman Montvilliers, a widowed earl, has a very promising political career and has a daughter whose mother died while delivering their second born. Roman and Sophia find themselves drawn to each other in a passion that threatens to burn them both, but most especially Roman, whose political career is at risk. I like the humor in the book, especially in the conversations. An example is the conversation with the insane man who was to be hanged. Mariah's dislike of Roman and the exchange of words between them is also quite hilarious. Additionally, I like Roman and Sophia as main characters. Although Roman is powerful, he's quite gentle. On the other hand, Sophia is a very strong woman, she hasn't been broken by the hardships she has experienced in her life.


I did not like the way the beginning of the book is wordy and a bit vague, but the book got very interesting eventually.

I rate this book, A Scandal Changes Everything by Josie Johns 5 out of 5 stars.

I recommend it to readers who like historical fiction books with an intriguing love story. The book will teach them several life lessons about how fate can give a shattered life a second chance.

 In this book, Take 2 by Natalie Acosta, young and ambitious Bella has a dream of one day winning an Oscar for best screenplay. She meets her dream man, Ryan, a hot football player, way too early. Both of them have careers, but they also have a love to pursue. At some point they get married, but they are unable to balance their careers and love, so they eventually choose careers. To Bella's surprise, Ryan switches careers from football to movie writer like herself and even manages to beat her in winning the Oscar. In No Strings Attached by Christy McKellen,  Chloe Dasher needs some kind of vacation so as to put her mind in order. Her long-awaited wedding did not happen since the groom decided she's not his happily ever after, after all. But she's not alone; her ex, Kit, is in the same boat, because his engagement has been cancelled. Fate seems to make them meet again in these odd circumstances. They decide to find comfort in each other's arms, with no strings attached. And only God knows where this will lead. I liked the fact that the conversations in the book are deep and natural.
